Be the change you wish to see
I saw this quote again recently & it got me thinking about all the times my neighbor and I would both arrive home at the same time, yet rush inside with our heads in our phones, without even acknowledging each other.
And I always wondered, why didn't they say hi to me?
So many of us get caught up in the whirlwind of our own lives (work, school, home, etc) that it becomes SO much easier to stay that way. Rather than being vulnerable and greeting others first, we burrow further into our own lives.
But imagine the world if that's what everyone did? Rather, what kind of world would we have if even half of us made the effort to show kindness first and the ripple effect that would start?
And I know that can feel overwhelming, the whole world aspect, but why not start in our own communities? With our own neighbors?
I'm willing to be the changemaker in my neighborhood - will you join me?
